Ethereum clients patched a certificate flaw, and CryptoBilis took $95.35 million

Daily on Cardano
The day outside Cardano opens with a patch, not a price. Today Kriptoteme, citing CoinDesk, writes that Ethereum clients patched a flaw after an error at certificate issuer eMudhra. Some Teku and Besu configurations could have accepted forged certificates, and some ether rewards could have been redirected. Default mainnet settings were not exposed. Patches were published the same day. The same morning, at 10:34, crypto.news writes about the CryptoBilis drainer aimed at Ledger, with $95.35 million in stolen funds. The number of people hit, and the path of the attack, stop at that figure.

Russia, RLUSD, and Keystone
Russia, according to RBC as carried by Kriptoteme, is introducing a standardized knowledge test for people who buy crypto through regulated intermediaries. Brokers are the first channel. An effective date is not confirmed. RLUSD is on the Coinbase app, Exchange, and Prime, on the XRP Ledger, Ethereum, and Base. Capitalization is above $2.4 billion. Moody's gave ratings of A2 and P-1. Reserves are mostly short-term US Treasuries and cash, with a coverage target of 103 percent and NYDFS oversight. That is Kriptoteme citing CryptoSlate. The Crypto Basic today reports $1 billion of inflows into RLUSD. Those are two rows, not one product.
Keystone is destroying 18,835 devices after the theft of a WebAuth key. Recovery phrases were not affected. Keystone supports Lace and Eternl. SongMarketCap writes that today. Shopify data deletion is expected on 3 November. Separately, Kriptoteme carries a warning that Singapore police are said to be warning of possible malicious hardware implants in Ledger devices. The source of that claim is a post on CoinMarketCap Community, and that row needs a check before it is treated as confirmed. In that piece, used devices are the higher risk.
Lagarde, Google, and the file
Christine Lagarde leaves the presidency of the European Central Bank in February 2027. Cointelegraph carries that today at 11:33, as a headline. No reason is added beyond the headline. At 12:45 today Bitcoin.com News writes that Google is building a custody security platform for banks, on MPC. A start date is not stated in that row. The Fed's rate decision is on the Bitcoin desk.
Kriptoteme from 28 October, citing CoinDesk, writes that DTCC tokenization is running in production and covers about $30 trillion of securities, with 20 firms, among them JPMorgan, Citi, and Morgan Stanley. It runs on Canton Network and a private Besu chain. That continues yesterday's story. It is not a new start. The same day, according to Kaiko, USDC holds 56 percent of stablecoin trading against the euro, against 10 percent in January 2024. According to Cointelegraph, exchanges limited USDT in the European Economic Area, and the EBA marked USDC as the first significant e-money token under MiCA. Tether launched USAT. Coinbase's vendor Amplitude exposed a small slice of contact data. The number of people affected was not published in today's reading. The phishing risk is higher.
