Midnight and Sig Network open privacy for Ethereum apps while the assets stay on Ethereum

The widest reach of the day is not the NIGHT price. It is a bridge that is not a bridge. At 17:10 Central European time on 28 October, @MidnightNtwrk announced that Sig Network lets Ethereum apps use Midnight privacy while the assets stay on Ethereum. The post has 757 likes and 56,827 views. At 18:47 Charles Hoskinson wrote Welcome to Midnight Ethereum. That post has 1,475 likes and 43,121 views.

A signature threshold, without wrapping

At 10:43 today The Crypto Basic describes the mechanism. Sig's signature lets a Midnight smart contract control an Ethereum account through a threshold of independent signers. Balances, identity, and transaction history are hidden, alongside Uniswap and Aave, without wrapping the assets. Sig is already on the Midnight stagenet, with deposits, Uniswap swaps, Aave borrows, and withdrawals. That is the stagenet, not a claim that those flows are already on Midnight mainnet. A direct pool-operator reaction was not found. @cryptodotnews relayed the announcement, with 3,486 views. The tone in that round is positive. Separately, at 03:18 today Hoskinson posted about a valley of despair. That is a different post, not part of the Sig announcement.

A million transactions, and the price

At 10:58 the same outlet writes that Midnight mainnet has passed a million transactions. Midnight Explorer counts 1,094,866 transactions and 1,434 contracts. The daily peak was 49,229 transactions on 25 October. The last 24 hours had 26,608. The Crypto Basic also warns that a rise in transactions does not by itself mean sustainable use. That caveat is in their piece. No further measurement is added here.

At 14:15 on SongMarketCap, NIGHT is 0.192058 ADA, down 2.43 percent on the day and up 5.87 percent over seven days. Volume is 1.94 million ADA. DexHunter gives 0.193414 ADA. In dollars SongMarketCap holds $0.0386, and CoinGecko $0.0391, down 2.38 percent. The gap is between a DEX source and a CEX source, not between two tokens. On SongMarketCap's Midnight News today there are pieces on private credentials for AI agents, Agentic Multipass, and on a plan for private DeFi trading, Sommet Labs and Abyss. @JureKaramarko shared them on the evening of 28 October. The bodies of those pieces are not retold here past the titles.
